SURPRISE BIRTHDAY PARTY

One day my friend Peter sent me an email asking me if I could help him organise a special surprise birthday party for his sister Anna. He also asked me if I could give any ideas, suggesting some places where we can go, the best present for Anne, if we could meet some day to organise the party... And I response this:

“Hi Peter,
I presume that this birthday party for Anna will be fantastic and definitely it will be a pleasure to help you. I don’t think that your house is too small but anyway if you think so we can book the Majestic Hotel. However, booking this hotel it’s too expensive. Another place where we can go is to the restaurant directed by Phil’s mother. Phil told me that they had excellent cooks and we also could have a band there.
It’s always difficult for me to think about possible presents for people when it’s their birthday but I’ve known Anna for a lot of years and she enjoys travelling. We could buy her a cruise across the Mediterranean or a Safari in Kenya. There are any places in the world!
I’m sorry but I can’t come the day before the party to help you because I have to work overtime that day. If you has asked me this before I wouldn’t have asked to do overtime. Although we can meet up two days before the party if you want. I think that this party will be very special if we make a tematical party, for example a white party, where everybody has to wear white clothes, or a beach party where everyone has to wear swimming suits and they could refresh themselves in little swimming pools or foam canons.
I hope to listen of you soon.
Kind Regards,
Eudald”

The party was en exit. Anna was very happy and she really liked my ideas and all the assistants agreed that this party has to be repeated. Peter and I make a good team!

A SPECIAL WEEDING

Hello! My name is John and I’m going to tell you how I met my girlfriend.

A few months ago I had a weeding. For personal reasons I arrived late and many of the guests had gone home. Monica was sitting on the stairs red-eyed. Monica is the sister of Anna, the girl who had been just married.  She had been crying but she was OK now. She told me that she was waiting for a taxi but the taxi hadn’t come. I offered her a lift home and she accepted. As we were walking to my car, she touched my hand. “I’ve been thinking of you”, she said. “You’re one of the kindest people I’ve met in my life”. At that moment I felt awkward and embarrassed. I had never been in a situation like that before. Monica had always been the girl of my dreams. She was watching me with her brilliant eyes and I felt a little nervous. The night was getting dark and the moon illuminated her face. I touched her hand and finally I said “I’ve been thinking about you too”. After that we both laughed.  When we arrived at her home he invited me to spend the night with her and...

And that’s all folks. Since that day we are in love and forever and ever!

MY TWO FAVOURITE BOOKS

During my whole life I have read a lot of books and I hope to read more in the future. There are some books that I like. It’s difficult for me to chose only two books but I’m gonna do that. Now, I’m going to explain some reasons why these two books are important for me.

Two years ago I read “The Catcher in the Rye”, a novel written by J.D.Salinger. The story is about the adventures of Holden Cauldfield, a northamerican teenager in the 50’s. In my opinion the main character, Holden, represents the rebelliousness and the desire of a typical teenager. His inexperience and his behaviour remind me to myself.

Another book that I really like is “The Hunger Games”, written by Suzanne Collins. The novel is situated in the USA of the future, where every year celebrates a game where two teenagers (one boy and one girl) of the 12 districts of the town have to participate in them. The game consists in a fight for the survival. The main character is a young girl and she have to participate in the games. I think that the plot isn’t the principal of the story; the principal element of the story is the way how the authoress tells the argument. She explains the story with intrigue and she catches you and you can’t stop to read.

At the moment these are my favourite novels. But maybe in the future I will read more books and these will change!

SEVILLA!

Last Easter I went to Sevilla and I spent some days there. We left the 31th by plane very early in the morning. When we arrived we rent two cars and we went to the apartment that we had rent in Bromujos, a little urbanization near Sevilla. In the afternoon we visited the Gold Tower, where the ancient spanish people kept the gold from America; and “La Maestranza” the typical bullring and the museum. After that we ate some tapas in a typical tavern with a very funny name: “Matahambre”

The next day was the Palm Sunday and all the people wore smart and new clothes and they went to see the different processions. It was cloudy and some processions didn’t start. We visited “Plaza España”, a very beautiful semi-circular square. That midday we had lunch in an argentinean restaurant. Then, in the afternoon, we saw one procession but before we did a cruise through the Guadalquivir.

On Monday, we woke up early and we’re going to visit “Los Reales Alcázares”, where the old kings of Spain had lived. Their rooms are very big and well-decorated and they have very colourful gardens. In the afternoon we visited the Macarena and and then, unexpectedly, we saw a very long procession. I don’t like the processions because I am a nonbeliever and I found it long and boring.

The following two days we did one-day trips. At first we went to Jerez and we visited the Alvaro Domecq winery, where we saw the different types of Jerez wine and we also did a little wine-tasting. After that, immediately we went to see the horse show of the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art Foundation. The show was wonderful and the horses were gorgeous and very well-educated. That night we watched the F.C.Barcelona VS Milan match in a typical bar.

The next one-day trip was in Córdoba. There, we visited the cathedral. It was fantastic! The cathedral is an ancient mesquite and the arabian arches are really beautiful. In the afternoon we saw another procession, but this one was shorter than the others.

The last day we were going to see the Sevilla’s cathedral and “La Giralda”. The gothic cathedral is very big and “La Giralda” is the bell tower. This bell tower hasn’t got stairs and you have to go up by ramps. Then we did a tour with carts pulled by horses. At last we went to the airport and we returned home but the plane wasn’t there at time, so we arrived at home too late! Although, it was a very good time!
